  • Statues of the 47 Gishi

    The statues lining the sandō path to Akō Oishi Shrine. Most offerings are made by descendants of the Akō Gishi.

  • Yokoya Masugata of the Ninomaru Castle Walls

    Not only do these stone walls appear to burst out of the water, but they look beautiful alongside the autumn leaves and the moat.

  • Ninomaru Gardens

    Utilizing excavated materials, the pond, pond island, pavillion, and wooden bridge have been repaired. The gardens are expansive and are the perfect place for a stroll.

  • Pavillion 1

    Upon entering and taking a seat, you'll be greeted with a view that looks as if the Honmaru gates have been framed. The pavillion is a great spot to take a break while listening to the relaxing sounds of water. No shoes are allowed in the pavillion.

  • Honmaru Garden Pond

    A pond that faces the feudal lord's palace. Imagining the view from past structures overlooking the pond along with its geometric shape paints a picture of a lovely scene.

  • Umayaguchi Gate

    The view of the gate, arched bridge, and surrounding stone walls reflected off the surface of the water is incredibly beautiful. The cherry blossoms blooming around the gates are another highlight of this spot.

  • Nunozumi Stone Walls

    These stone walls were carefully built layer by layer during the Asano period using a masonry technique known as nunozumi. The result of this technique is a gorgeous stone texture.

  • Cherry Blossom Viewing Park (Genroku Sakura Garden)

    A biotope that was created utilizing the results of excavation efforts. There are 200 cherry blossom trees planted in the park. The cherry blossoms reflecting off the surface of the water give this park incredible views.
